Abacoa consists of townhomes, condos and single family homes. The townhome market is the entry level real estate in Abacoa. Basically the first phase of Abacoa had the older style Divosta style townhomes that were 1200 sq. ft with a two car garage. That model was the last time they built in Abacoa.  The problem with that floor plan was that the living space downstairs and kitchen were quite small with the two car garage. There was no outdoor space as well. What Divosta did in their next phase was eliminate the two car garage and add the garage space as additional living space. This increased the living area to 1,500 sq. ft and became a much more popular model. This model is still being built as the entry level townhome in Abacoa. Not as popular as the larger models in Abacoa they are still very popular as a vacation home or entry level home to be in the community. You are getting 3 bedrooms which is great for families and is larger than many older Jupiter homes.

Abacoa Townhomes

The larger Abacoa townhome has four different models and is 1,800 sq. ft in size with a two car garage and an outdoor patio space which is a feature that many people desired. What they did was move all the garage space out of the original smaller floor plan to give you additional downstairs living space. The upstairs living space remained the same on all models.  They offered a few different floor plans which consisted of  3 or 4 bedroom models. The 3 bedroom models had two options which included all 3 bedrooms upstairs and main living space downstairs or they added a 4th bedroom and full bath downstairs on the 4 bedroom models. All are the same sq. footage. There were some 3 bedroom models with two master suites upstairs and the 3rd bedroom downstairs.

In Mallory Creek they offered the Nautica model which changed the downstairs completely and put a  side staircase in and opened the kitchen into the dining/living room more like a single family home. This even today is still the most popular townhomes in Abacoa. In Windsor Walk they changed the floorplan again and enlarged the master bedroom as the early Nautica models had room for only a queen size bed with night stands.

Today with the last phase of Abacoa being finished up the used townhomes are selling for as much as new models or in some cases more due to the time frame for delivery of new models.  Features such as impact glass, metal roofs and a host of new flooring options and cabinets were available in Mallory Creek for the first time. Early Abacoa townhomes had no options, you received basic white cabinets, white carpet or tile and no other options. I call them the vanilla models.

Other Jupiter Townhome Options

We have a few other townhome communities such as Botanica and Canterbury Place which offer several styles of newer townhomes as well. Not as popular as the Divosta townhomes but they were offered with many options not available in Divosta models. Prior to the building boom in 2000 most of Jupiter had very little building in the 90’s and the majority of it was built back in the late 80’s. This is one reason for the popularity of Abacoa.
