What makes Abacoa in Jupiter a popular community? Abacoa began back about 1997 when most of the land in Northern Palm Beach County started to sell. Abacoa was a community in which they wanted a self contained community with shops, restaurants, college campus and amenities. The built some live /work condos as well as Downtown condos in which you could walk to many of the various features in Jupiter. Besides the downtown condos Divosta was building townhomes and single family homes. It started out with different communities with a specific theme. New Haven was one of the earlier communities and had a New England theme while Tuscany had a Mediterranean theme. The idea was to build several different communities for different types of buyers. The community had a golf club, movie theater, college campus and spring training facilities. This way both college age kids had places to live and play. Full time residents had good schools for their children and snowbirds had amenities that suited them as well. Besides being close to I-95 and easy access to West Palm Beach Airport you are a short ride to the beaches in Jupiter. No longer were some of the smaller condos near the beach amble enough for full time residents with children so Abacoa was the new concept in which Jupiter would build.

Inside of we have County Parks, plenty of green space and public schools. Children could now walk to many of the Jupiter schools and both live in the same communities as other kids in their schools. The initial concept of this new community in Jupiter took a bit to get going but once it started it really took off. Most of Jupiter hadn’t seen new homes in years and Abacoa was the start to the new growth of Jupiter. It soon became apparent that Abacoa would become one of Jupiter’s most popular communities. The final phase Windsor Park Abacoa just finished and  is complete. You will find homes and condos in all sizes and price ranges.
